Our nutrition philosophy.

Our goal at Turning Tides Eating Disorder Treatment Center is to help the client begin to understand the importance of structure and consistency during the recovery process.

The belief system to use food to manage feelings, feel in control and believe the voice that one needs to starve, restrict or binge with food is going to diminish.

It will not take long until clients start to feel better by providing the body of nutrient rich foods and learn to accept a healthy weight that is going to provide the best possible life. A joyful life will be possible without the struggles associated with food.

Our team supports the realization we are all different, that is why the Turning Tides Nutrition Philosophy is just that, different for everyone. We do follow a set protocol in nutritional needs through specific guidelines by the U.S.D.A., however, meal plans are specific to one’s individuals needs and challenges associated with their eating disorder.

At Turning Tides,
We Believe in YOU.

No matter what your challenges are today, a well-suited meal plan will be developed as a collaborative approach with you and our licensed registered dietitian. This plan will support both nutritional needs, as well as, challenge the client to establish a new relationship with food.

We do not want to take away control of anyone’s food; it is learning to integrate an understanding of what the most effective relationship is for you. Rather than following a meal plan that is food specific, our plan gives you the freedom to be more creative with your meals.

Gaining responsibility in a supportive yet constructive environment is our goal and mission at each level system. Through a collaborated clinical approach, we guide, challenge and support each individual to the most effective nutritional transition needed for his or her recovery.
