Robert Yagoda, LMHC, LPC, CAP, ICAD, SAP
Founder, Clinical Director
As founder and Clinical Director of Turning Tides Center for Eating Disorders, Robert Yagoda brings his knowledge and passion of more than 13 years in the field of treating and caring for clients in need. His combined clinical and administrative experience of eating disorders, drug and dual diagnosis treatment has given him the knowledge to appropriately design programming that is targeted at helping persons suffering.
Robert is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor who began his career working with this population of clients. Using his experience of accelerating providers in the healthcare industry to national prominence, Robert always envisioned opening a facility that allows people suffering from this disorder to find true inner peace with food and self-acceptance. What motivates him most is seeing clients make groundbreaking strides in recovery, knowing Turning Tides is a part of their growth and success.
Kristen Perez, MEd, LMHC
Kristen Perez is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of North Florida and her Master of Education in Counselor Education, also from UNF. She gained experience working at the UNF Counseling Center as an individual and group therapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and identity issues. She also worked in the hospital setting completing mental health evaluations for mental health patients at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. Her therapeutic approach consists of cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and interpersonal process approaches. During her time at UNF, she deepened her knowledge and passion for the treatment of eating disorders while serving as staff coordinator for the Eating Disorder Treatment Team. Since leaving UNF, she has opened a private practice where she currently treats adolecents and adults suffering from a wide range of mental health concerns. Outside of the office, Kristen dedicates her time to her husband and three children and loves yoga and traveling.
Sabrina Fichera, MSH, RDN, LD
Sabrina Fichera, MSH, RDN, LD is a licensed and registered dietitian with a Masters of Science and Health with emphasis in nutrition from the University of North Florida. Prior to joining the Turning Tides team, Sabrina gained extensive experience in eating disorders as a dietician at The Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt in Baltimore, Maryland. After relocating to Orlando, Florida, Sabrina started a private practice where she continued to focus on eating disorders.
Her background varies from a wide assortment of healthcare settings including hospitals and outpatient care. Her extensive professional experience consists of working with a range of eating disorders. Sabrina provides individualized nutrition assessments, counseling and education for all clients. She enjoys working with individuals and families guiding them towards a healthy relationship with food.
Havey Baer, MS, RMHCI
Havey Baer received her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in Sociology, and her Master of Science degree from University of North Florida in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She gained experience counseling individuals and groups at the UNF Counseling Center, with a specialty in depression, anxiety, eating disorders, identity conflicts, trauma, and relationship stress. She received specialized training in treating eating disorders as a member of the University of North Florida's eating disorder treatment team. Havey also has experience providing counseling services to children, adolescents and families in an outpatient setting. Havey’s therapeutic approach incorporates solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and client-centered therapies to assist in identifying and alerting distorted thinking patterns, while promoting the use of individualized coping skills. Havey aims to help her clients utilize their unique skills, strengths, and problem-solving abilities to feel empowered in their bodies and minds. In her free time, Havey enjoys practicing yoga, being in nature, and spending time with loved ones.
Theresa Randazzo-Burton, M.D.
Dr. Burton is a Board-Certified Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and serves as the Medical Director of The Retreat at Ponte Vedra Beach.
She has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Psychopharmacology and specializes in combination mental health treatment when medication and psychotherapy are used simultaneously to treat diagnoses across the scope of care. Areas of focus include eating disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and similar compulsive tendencies.
Dr. Burton attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston before entering a residency and fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. For the last decade she has been practicing hospital based medicine at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC and most recently Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville. In 2016. in conjunction with the residency program at The University of Florida Psychiatry Training Program, Dr. Burton initiated a hospital-wide Eating Disorder Admission and Treatment Protocol. Today, she maintains a passion for emergency and acute psychiatric care, but is invested in bringing Preventative and Wellness Services to her community of Ponte Vera Beach.
Elizabeth Winings, D.N.P., ARNP, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Elizabeth Winings is ANCC Board Certified as a Family Mental Health-Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate and graduate education in nursing. She also completed her doctoral internship in nutrition and lifestyle medicine at the True North Health Center in Santa Rosa, CA. Dr. Winings practices psychotherapy in conjunction with psychopharmacology and wellness focused interventions. She has advanced training in plant-based nutrition and wellness promotion and specializes in the relationship between diet, lifestyle, and mental health.
Her time working in hospital setting as a surgical nurse and an emergency department nurse inspired her pursuit of advanced training in mental health and nutrition. As a psychiatric provider in the Jacksonville area, Dr. Winings is passionate about meeting the needs of this community. Areas of interest include eating disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, and other mood disorders. Dr. Winings practices with the understanding that achieving optimal health is multi-factorial, composed of physical, mental, and emotional experiences.
Kristin Gartner, RNC-OB, BSN, IBCLC
Kristin Gartner is a Registered Nurse, with over 20 years of experience specializing in the field of maternal child health. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Florida and is certified in Inpatient Obstetrics and is a board certified Lactation Consultant. She has worked in a variety of settings, ranging from hospitals to birth centers to private practices, in addition to several medical missions to a remote jungle hospital in Honduras. Her broad range of experience exemplifies a unique passion and skill for encouraging patients. Kristin’s desire to provide care beyond mothers and infants led her to Turning Tides.
She and her husband are avid fans of the Dave Matthews Band. They have two children and two dogs and spend much of their free time enjoying the beach life that the Jacksonville Beaches have to offer.
Office Administrator, HR Coordinator
Joy joins the Turning Tides team with an extensive administrative and customer service background. She offers a friendly, sole point of contact for both external and internal agencies, as well as clients. After moving from the midwest one year ago, Joy enjoys gardening, spending time with her family at the beach to relax or participating in fitness and other outdoor activities.
Danielle is a native Floridian who recently moved back to Jacksonville after several years in the Midwest. She attended Florida State University, where she was a member of the Business & Professional Women’s Foundation and interned at the Governor’s office. Danielle has an extensive background in marketing and communications. She has previously worked as both a Physician Liaison and Director of Marketing within the medical field. She enjoys spending her spare time at the beach with her husband, daughter and dog, Raleigh.
Kimberley LaMora MS, RDN, LD
Kimberley LaMora is a licensed and registered dietitian who obtained her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from SUNY Oneonta and completed her Master of Science in Applied Nutrition through Russel Sage College. Kim started her career working in the hospital setting serving the adult and elderly populations. Originally from upstate New York Kim relocated to Jacksonville Florida to gain experience with the pediatric population. Working at Wolfson Children’s Hospital she gained experience with a wide range of patients varying from premature babies to adolescents. While working with the adolescent mental health unit she gained experience with individual and group setting educations and eating disorder patients and their families. Kim enjoys spreading her knowledge of nutrition and helping individuals build a healthy relationship with food. Outside of work Kim enjoys practicing Pilates, being outdoors, cooking and spending time with her family and two dogs.
